Our Process
- 1
Enroll in a program
Obtain an official acceptance or enrollment letter from a Thai school, university, or language institute.
- 2
Prepare documents
Gather your enrollment letter, financial proof, and all supporting documents.
- 3
Apply for your Non-Immigrant ED visa
Apply at a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country before arriving.
- 4
Stay compliant after arrival
Follow Immigration rules for your stay (including extensions while you study, and 90-day address reporting when it applies to your visa type).
- 5
Extend within Thailand
The ED visa can typically be extended at an immigration office as long as you remain enrolled.
Not all schools and enrollment letters are treated equally by Thai immigration. An application based on an unrecognised institution or a poorly worded acceptance letter can be rejected outright, and you will not know until you are already at the embassy.
The Non-ED visa covers a wide range of programs: university degrees, Thai language courses, Muay Thai training, Buddhist study, traditional massage certification, and more. As long as you remain enrolled in an approved program, the visa can be renewed annually inside Thailand.
Visa Siam works with reputable schools and coordinates your enrollment letter alongside the visa application, so both are ready at the same time.
