Requirements*

  • Valid marriage certificate registered in Thailand or officially translated and legalized
  • Passport valid for at least 18 months
  • Proof of financial requirement: 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account (seasoned 2 months) OR monthly income of at least 40,000 THB
  • Thai spouse's ID card and house registration (tabien baan)
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Completed TM7 application form
  • TM30 address registration

Our Process

  1. 1

    Prepare your marriage documents

Your marriage certificate must be officially registered in Thailand. Foreign marriages require translation and legalization before Thai immigration will accept them.

  2. 2

    Open a Thai bank account

Deposit the required 400,000 THB and let it season for at least two months before your application date.

  3. 3

    Apply for Non-Immigrant O visa

If applying from abroad, apply at a Thai embassy or consulate. If converting from another status inside Thailand, visit your local immigration office.

  4. 4

    Annual renewal

Renew each year at a Thai immigration office. You must maintain the financial requirement and bring your spouse to some offices.

  5. 5

    90-day reporting

Report your address to immigration every 90 days while residing in Thailand. We can handle this on your behalf.

Married to a Thai national? The Non-O visa sounds straightforward, but foreign marriage certificates almost always need to be officially legalized before Thai immigration will accept them. Missing this step is the most common reason family visa applications stall.

The visa renews annually and requires either 400,000 THB seasoned in a Thai bank account (held without large withdrawals for at least two months before application) or a monthly income of at least 40,000 THB. There is no age requirement.

Visa Siam handles the legalization of your marriage certificate as part of the application process, so everything is in order before your immigration appointment.
